| Welcome to our Christmas Newsletter!
Welcome to the special Christmas 2007 edition of our monthly newsletter. May we take this opportunity to wish all of you and your loved ones all the blessings and love of Christmas. May each and everyone of you be filled with the light, peace and joy that comes with knowing that God and Man are reconciled :)
We thank you for being part of our journey, part of our growth and development. Sharing the love with one another is the name of the game in our book and we are happy to play this, always! The joy and happiness that has been brought to us through sharing with you in so many ways over the last year is truly a gift from the Divine and we thank you with all of our hearts and our souls for it :)
Simon chose the picture above for you; he was very drawn to it as soon as he saw it. He felt it would be the way to share with you and make tangible the link between human and God, between flesh and blood and the spirit that we all are. Regina Angelorum (Queen of Angels) can be a way for us to ponder the message of Christmas and the hope that springs from it: that God made Himself into man, into a human baby, representing perhaps the ultimate depiction of humility. Showing us that humility is indeed the place where the presence of God, the light & the endless love, are most easily perceived by us :)
We look forward to continuing our journey together with you and we're excited in being able to share 3 classes with you in the early New Year where Lisa & Simon will be together to co-teach.
Thank you again for all that you have given to us and we hope that we can radiate back to you the love, joy and healing that you have brought to us :)

St. Francis was able to recognise and perceive God through all the wonders and love brought to us by animals. He also wrote the Canticle of the Creatures in which God is praised and recognised through all the elements and the natural world.
One of the things that animals teach and show humans is the way in which God loves us - unconditionally :)

| Lisa's Special Christmas Recipe
Only read on if you are happy to put on weight over the Christmas period......!
I love baking lots of goodies during the holiday season. It fills the house with wonderful scents, are tasty to eat, and wonderful to share. This has been a tradition in my household since I was a little girl, when my mother and I would make special treats to give to my teachers as holiday gifts.
Character Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter books had the right idea promoting the "medicinal" use of chocolate :-) Then science backed it up by finding that chocolate is full of antioxidants!
Here is one of my favourite brownie recipes that is chocolatey, fudgey, and much lower fat than most because applesauce replaces most of the fat in the recipe. As a baking hint, if oil is only being used for moistness, unsweetened applesauce or similar fruit puree can be substituted. However, don't try that if the fat is needed for texture such as flakiness. Brownies are dense, not flakey so the substitution works!
Death by Chocolate Brownies
1/2 Cup unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch processed cocoa is best)
3/4 Cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 Tablespoons oil (light olive oil, canola, etc) (If doubling the recipe, use 3Tb total)
2 large eggs
1/2 Cup unsweetened, plain applesauce
1 1/2 Cup sugar
1 teaspoon chocolate extract *
1 12-ounce package chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
Grease an 8"x8" baking pan (either metal, silicone, or glass)
In a medium bowl, sift or mix together flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
In a large bowl, mix oil and sugar until oil is incorporated into the sugar. Add eggs, applesauce, vanilla extract, and chocolate extract. Add flour mixture (about 1/3 to 1/2 of it at a time so the flour ends up in the mixture and not all over the kitchen) to the large bowl with the egg and sugar mixture. Be careful not to overmix or the brownies will be tough. Fold in chocolate chips.
If you like nuts in brownies, dust the nuts with flour first, shake off excess, then add it to the mix the same time as the chips. Why dust with flour first? keeps the nuts from settling to the bottom of the mix!
Scoop the mix into the greased baking pan and bake for 35-40 minutes. They are done when a cake tester or toothpick inserted comes out clean, but be careful not to poke through the chips (since chips are gooey so the tester will never come out clean!). They can be pulled from the oven a little earlier if you like gooey brownies.
* Chocolate extract adds to the chocolatey flavour of the brownies. If you can't find it, you can either skip it or use a chocolate liqueur. While our affiliate link to Mountain Rose Herbs can be used to purchase many spices and some common extracts, unfortunately chocolate extract isn't one of their offerings. I've had to purchase this online, one place to consider is Spices Etc but there are other online stores that sell it as well.
This recipe can be doubled and baked in a 9"x13" pan.
I have no idea how long these can be stored since they are usually consumed very quickly!

Surviving the Holidays!
With the appearance of Christmas items on store shelves, we can't help but be reminded that the holiday season is right around the corner. This is a time for preparation of the birth of Jesus, wishing good will and peace to all. It is also a time of family gatherings, parties, gift buying, decorating, and endless "to do" lists thrust us into a busy, stressful time. We would like to share with you some of tips that we use to survive the season.
1. Take time for yourself.
Before taking care of others, it is necessary to take care of oneself. Be sure to get adequate sleep, eat properly, exercise, and find time to meditate and relax. In our Reiki I class, we teach that "a healer is only as good as the vessel and an overtired, stressed, out-of-balance healer won't be able to do his or her best helping clients." The same is true for everyone.
2. Make sure you know who YOU are!
Interacting or even being in the same place as a lot of people, whether it is family, co-workers, or strangers at the mall can result in a lot of chaotic energy swirling around. Keeping your sense of self is important. Set the intention "whatever is not mine, please leave immediately." Call on Archangel Michael to help remove what doesn't belong.
3. Keep your aura closed!
To avoid getting drained at the mall, airports, or other crowded places, close your aura. It is much like shutting a window to keep the bugs out, but still being able to see what is outside. Use the Shower Meditation in the morning as a means to put yourself in a protective bubble of light. Setting the following intention also helps: "I close off my aura to all but my own highest self and those of the highest vibration that I invite." Those of the highest vibration include Archangels.
4. Remember the power of prayer
We are are given challenges in life that are part of our learning experience, but remember that the Lord does not give us more than we can handle. He is always there for us, and all we have to do is ask for His assistance through prayer. A wonderful prayer to keep in mind during difficult times is the Serenity prayer, originally written by Reinhold Niebuhr in the 1930s:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen.

| News about our Classes
Our Christmas Crystal Celebration class is now fully booked. We look forward to meeting and sharing with those who will be joining with us for this very special class.
Have you considered taking a reiki class but have been waiting for the right time?! What better way to start the New Year than to join us in our Usui Reiki I class on January 19th & 20th 2008. Simon will be co-teaching this class with Lisa, so it will be a particularly special Reiki I class for us. The class is a very effective and practical way to experience self healing to enable oneself to be the intact vessel necessary to heal others. This is a full two day weekend class - yet our class fee is only that usually charged for one day reiki classes. Our class is held over two days because we incorporate energy and spiritual health and safety - crucial, in our view, in helping to ensure we keep ourselves in the best place possible whilst practicing energy healing and spiritual exploration. A very popular class which often initiates profound and life changing healing shifts for those receiving the Usui Reiki attunement.
We now have our Usui Reiki II class scheduled for February 23rd 2008. Simon will also be co-teaching this class with Lisa. We have arranged it so that sufficient time will have elapsed for our students who received their Reiki I attunement in January to be able to take this class. This is a one day class and builds on the foundation of the Usui Reiki I class. You will learn the symbols and techniques for sending healing beyond time and space (or, said another way, you will realise that time & space are not a barrier to sending love & healing - because love & healing are are everything, everywhere - and you are part of it :) ). You will also receive your Usui Reiki II attunement which will allow you to become a reiki practitioner.
We still have spaces available for both these reiki classes but places do fill up quickly, so please register through our website as soon as possible if you would like to take either of these classes. There are two payment rates for our classes - one for new students and one existing ARHA students & clients. Please be sure to use the Pay Pal buttons for the special rate if it applies to you!
Simon's Psychic Development & Mediumship classes have proved to be very popular! He may be able to give a special one - off class whilst he is over in the USA - so watch this space, it will be announced here first (before the website) and places will go very quickly. Simon will also be conducting readings while in the USA and he is already virtually fully booked. If you would like a reading with Simon here in the USA then please let us as soon as you can because there are very few appointments left and he would love to be able to meet as many of you as possible while he is here :).
We have also now scheduled our next immensely popular Crystal Discovery class for March 22nd 2008. This is a lovely half day class which is an absolute must for anyone wanting to learn and share more about crystals. Learn how they can help us heal, aid our discernment and intuition, help us to channel energy for readings and much more! Please bring along any crystals that you have that you would like to share with others in the class. This class really is a great way of learning as much as is possible to learn about crystals in half a day! The class has been developed by us over a period of time and has proved to be highly enjoyable for all who have taken it with us. We would love to see you at our next class :)

Usui Reiki I January 19th - 20th 2008 ![Reiki session]()

Here is a wonderful way to start the year! You will learn the principles, history and ethics of Usui Reiki, receive your attunement and practice healing on others. Learn the foundations of energy healing which are vital for the effective and healthy channeling of healing energy. You will learn about grounding and protection, meditation, the chakra system, self-care, empathy, and more. More information about this class is available on our website. Lunch is included in all our full-day classes.

Sekhem-Seichim Reiki (SSR) Facets I & II ![Lapis Pyramid]()

SSR reiki consists of three energy streams, which includes Egyptian energy and Reiki. In this class, one learns the history of Reiki and SSR, hand positions for both self-care and working on others, and being attuned the Seichim and Reiki energy, and learning the first four symbols.
A very powerful yet gentle reiki energy stream. An energy with a distinct water vibration, SSR is very different to Usui Reiki yet will complement Usui attunements very effectively.

Psychic Development and Mediumship Class

Simon offers this very special one-on-one Psychic Development and Mediumship class to suit your schedule. As with all our classes the content and material is unique, having been written and designed by us through inspiration, intuition and spiritual guidance. The class consists of four lots of two hour lessons. We then adapt the class further to your preferences by holding your lessons at times and dates that suit you. The course fee is payable in advance and is $US190 / £95 for ARHA students and clients.

![Unikite]() Crystal of the Month: Unikite
The holidays can bring a lot of emotions to the surface, some are fond memories of past holidays, others may be due to issues that need healing so the lessons can be retained and the rest released.
Unikite is a lovely crystal, opaque, in pink and green, which are the colors associated with the heart chakra. It is a gentle healer for emotional issues, helping one to release repressed issues and those things that inhibit growth. Since it helps with emotions, it creates clarity that opens one up to creative thought. It is also a protective healer.
